Community Hospital Anderson is pleased to be the only health care facility in Madison County to offer hyperbaric oxygen therapy and advanced wound healing to our patients. The Center for Advanced Wound Healing opened early January 2010 and will offer patients a new level of treatment, with highly-trained staff and state-of-the-art technology.

Indications for hyperbaric oxygen therapy

  • Diabetic ulcers of the lower extremity
  • Chronic refractory osteomyelitis
  • Osteoradionecrosis
  • Soft tissue radionecrosis (including radiation cystitis and radiation proctitis)
  • Compromised skin graft or flap
  • Progressive necrotizing infections (including necrotizing fasciitis and brown recluse spider bites)
  • Clostridial myonecrosis - gas gangrene
  • Actinomycosis
  • Crush injuries/suturing of severed limbs
  • Acute peripheral arterial insufficiency
  • Acute traumatic arterial insufficiency
  • Acute carbon monoxide/cyanide poisoning
  • Acute blood loss anemia
  • Cerebral air or gas embolism
  • Decompression illness
